Cowanesque, PA | Janet E. Cary, 79, of Cowanesque, passed away at home on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Born at home on Jemison Road in Westfield, PA on Nov. 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Walton and Bernice Allen Taft. She married Herman Cary on Dec. 16, 1955. Herman preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2004. Janet had been employed as a cook at the Westfield Elementary School. She had attended the Cowanesque Methodist Church. She devoted her love and her life to the care of her family. Surviving are her sons, Terry (Joanne) Cary of Woodhull and Jody Cary (Cindy Bailey) of Knoxville, her daughters, Janie (Matthew) Willis of Caton and Doreen (Robert) Lanteigne of Pottstwon, PA, 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, her brother, Paul Taft of Westfield, PA, her sisters, Rose Kimball of Little Marsh, PA, Louise (Robert) Plumley of Coudersport, PA and Phyllis (Benjamin) Potter of Westfield, PA and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 13 at 10 AM at the East Troupsburg Baptist Church with her son in law, Matthew Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Chenango Cemetery, Troupsburg. There will also be a light meal at Jody Cary's home on the road between Knoxville and Austinburg PA following the burial service. Memorial checks may be made out to the Scleroderma Foundation.��
